How to Clean Olympus Digital Cameras

SENSOR SWAB® ULTRA, digital imaging sensor cleaner like its predecessor SENSOR SWAB®, is designed for cleaning CCD sensors and other delicate or hard to reach optical and imaging surfaces. Clean room manufactured and sealed, these swabs are the ultimate in purity. Sensor Swab ULTRA® digital imaging sensor cleaner is more absorbent and does not shed or leave fibers behind – it is available in three different sizes. Sensor Swab® digital imaging sensor cleaner and Sensor Swab® ULTRA are used interchangeably. Due to the added thickness of the ULTRA material, and the double wrap, it will be necessary to increase the amount of fluid and the pressure applied. See our FAQ regarding the differences.

Please review your camera’s manual to learn how to expose the sensor. Be sure your camera battery is fully charged before proceeding and any loose dust or dirt has been safely blown off with a blower or brush.

After you review the manual AND have seen our video demo, you are ready to clean your sensor.

• With one side of the swab, firmly drag it across the sensor.

• Repeat in the opposite direction using the clean side of the swab.

• Please discard swab after use. Repeat if necessary with a new swab.Release camera shutter and replace lens.

• Do not remove the swab from plastic bag until you are ready to use it. Dirt on the swab can scratch the sensor, so always remember to leave in plastic bag and immediately discard swab after use.

Caution: Only AEROCLIPSE® optic cleaning fluid or ECLIPSE® Optic Cleaning Fluid may be used to clean traditional CCD, CMOS and Tin Oxide sensors. WARNING : Do not use ANY product on the translucent mirror of ANY Sony DSLT cameras. Any pressure from any cleaning product is likely to damage it.  

NOTE: The use of zoom lenses or bellows will increase the amount of contaminants within the sensor area and more frequent cleaning may be needed. When used as directed Sensor Swab is easy and safe to use and yields excellent results!
