Sensor Swab® Ultra Digital Imaging Sensor Cleaner Size Chart.

Eclipse® optic cleaning fluid and Aeroclipse® digital sensor cleaning fluid are guaranteed safe for all sensors.

If the camera listed below contains two different swab sizes, either one can be used depending on the swabbing direction you prefer.
Some customers prefer an exact size swab for maximum coverage, while others prefer a swab that can be used on more than one model.

A History Lesson: Selecting the Correct Size Swab
For Cleaning the Sensor in a
Digital Interchangeable Lens Camera

The early digital SLR cameras (DSLR) were built using 35mm film camera bodies with APS-C sized sensors. i.e. the cameras had 35mm sized shutters (36x24mm) with sensors measuring 23x16mm approximately. The first Sensor Swab manufactured was sized at 20mm. It was 20mm, so that when cleaning (from left to right), the 20mm width would overlap the 16mm width of the sensor, ensuring that cleaning covered the entire width of the sensor, plus a bit, to allow some ‘wobble’ from the person cleaning…. USE EXTREME CARE with floating sensor. Lock it down prior to cleaning. Eclipse is preferred liquid. Aeroclipse is perfectly okay but designed for those needing to fly with a cleaner that is non-flammable.
